M3 Command Post and M3 towing howitzer
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Nice pics, Rick. The first one, btw, shows a GMC T5 half-track truck, built with many COTS components and a Cunningham articulating bogie, leaf spring, tracked suspension (Source: Hunnicutt).

Thanks Costas. This batch is very mixed up. That GMC T5, and several of the other photos are from Carlisle MHI, a few are the halftrack at Ft. Lewis, One from APG, and a few from the old Ordnance Museum research room. Rick

The command HT is that the Patton command version ?
There is a M3 (s) command armoured HT here, saw service with 4th Canadian Armoured Division ,South Alberta Regiment during the war, brought back and used as a CP right up to the late 60's. Now restored and a runner.

Anthony,
I kind of remember that this Command halftrack was Patton's. It was in the 1980s when I was at Carlisle MHI copying photos, so it would need to be verified by someone more familiar with Patton and his vehicles. Rick
