Australian Cruiser Tank Mark I (or AC1) AA practice
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Back in 1981/2, I was on practice camp at Hohne ranges in Germany with my Abbot Battery and we did the same thing using balloons for AAAD targets for the LMGs on the Abbots! Got some pictures somewhere. Happy days!

Most likely the State Library of Victoria.

The link doesn't seem to want to work, you want to go to search.slv.vic.gov.au/ and search for "Releasing balloons used as targets for A.A. firing practice from A.C.I. tanks"

OK. Well for everybody else the SLV has downloadable hi-res TIFF versions of all three of those photos and many more.

Good luck finding anything via search engines on library sites like that - riddled with present day spelling errors and vague period captions....

electric tank target range which consists of a concrete slab on wheels on a track which provides a moving target

I know, finding anything in an archive, doesn't seem to matter if it is the War Memorial or National Archives or a library, always seems to involve an element of luck. Surprising what turns up sometimes though.
