I have a friend that bought a shellby mustang when they built only 50 special editions a few years back. He has been offered over $100,000 for it. He goes to a lot of shows in AZ and most if not all he wins. The car has not been driven very much only in and out of it's trailer. It is fire engine red with a grey dash. That is his hobby.
He also owns a Glassair 1 tail dragger which he wet sanded to a brilliant shine. I had a Glassair 1 retrack. He usually wins best of show at all the flyins we attendsd ecept for 1 I won lol. We worked together at Motorola in its hey day.

I would drive that thing until the windshield wore out!
Friend of mine, who is a car nut, went to meet an old school friend who moved to CA years ago.
I think this would have been eight to ten years ago (not sure on timing and my friend's away on his hol's at the moment).
Knowing my bud's love of cars he arranged for him to meet his neighbour and friend.
My friend knew as soon as he saw him that it was Carroll Shelby.
My friend also has an association with AC Cars who made the original car for him, into which he dropped the Ford engine and modified everything.
We both live near Thames Ditton, where AC Cars were made at that time.
Because of this we still tend to see a relatively high number of Cobras around here.
You always hear them first.
