The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I don't think it's a runner, but for sure it's in great conditions, at least from what you can see from the outside.

It's origins are unclear too, how it arrived in Sweden? From Norway?

I was looking through the Panzer II PDF file and didn't find it, so I thought it was a new tank. But in fact, it is not a Panzer II.

Massimo, Great photos! I found a link online with descriptions of the vehicles there: Museum in Stragnas. The tank museum in Strangnas pictures from 2007 and 2011 Axvallas. The Pzkpfw 1 Ausf A is noted: "Most tanks that came to Sweden after the war were tanks that the Germans had used or only transported to Norway. This tank came to Sweden in 1947". So this explains where it was from. Rick

Some answers to some of the questions:

- Outside Army Museum in Stockholm there are two Tgb m/42 (one SKP and one VKP) and one Strv 103

Some vehicles are hidden in different Military Barracks or in Museum storages and not that easy to see, but I do have 98 % knowledge what you can find where.

- The number of Ikv 91 still around are at least 17 in total (one prototype), but my list is not 100% complete at the moment.
In GB there are 2, Switzerland 1 and Australia 1 - might be some more that I have forgotten.

- The number of Pbv 301 still around are at least 17 in total (both S 1 and S 2)

- The number of Sav m/43 still around are at least 8

- The Pz 1 is quite complete but not running, as far as I know it has neverr been running in Sweden.
For most of the vehicles that came to Sweden after WW II there are no facts where they came from, but there are a lot of rumours. The Pz 1 is one of these - probably Norway, but we do not know for sure. The Pz 1, Marder 2 and Hetzer have all been restored externally at the former Tank Museum.

You don't expect to find one of these in Sweden, it's even a prototype!
