USA (NOW V3.0!), Canada, France and Belgium AFV Registers
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Trevor -

LOL!! You can say that again!

Even with easing up for this tour on tank hunting in order to have more time to process/post galleries, we're up to 570 total stops for military museums.
That's 307 VFWs, AL Posts, Memorial Parks etc with 96 large AFV museums, 105 Air Museums (when I'll have time to post those is a mystery!) and visits to most every Naval museum or ship in the US (have a few subs left, but most capital ships have been visited - again WHEN those will be posted is also a mystery) - I've come to realize I need a full-time staff!!

We have been amazingly fortunate to have a job that allows us to indulge in our hobbies.

Cheers,
VB

Wow - well done! I'd love to offer to add them to PreservedTanks.com but I'm already feeling overwhelmed in a similar way to you.

Hi AFV DG! Doing better here. I'm hoping to add to the Preserved Tanks lists and it does overwhelm at times. My hobby/legacy is to leave behind my photos over the years. I do ask one thing, that they are credited to: Richard S. Eshleman. If I submit and an author needs details, email (it's in My Account here) and I hope to reply.
Always watch flickr Account Brick6757 for my submissions too. I send along a few old photos. Take care, Rick

Rick - glad to hear you're doing better! I haven't used many of your photos on PreservedTanks.com yet, though I look forward to adding more. You can always checked what's used where via the link on your Contributor page.

Recently updated satellite imagery, circa September 28, 2014, shows (or seems to show) an M1 Abrams has been added to the collection of the Camp Atterbury Veterans Memorial.

The Abrams is located at coordinates 39.359693,-86.033835

The M1 Abrams was there when we visited Camp Atterbury on 6/7/13. It has SN 1599.

I've got a bunch of listings I've gone and confirmed in Google Maps that I'll post here as soon as I've typed them all up. I suspect Vagabond may have already found and photographed quite a few of them, but I figured it might be worth helping either way Smile

I can check on the Seaford, DE, possible M113 APC maybe this coming weekend.
The Thurmont, MD M60A0 Nonballistic has been gone for awhile. It went somewhere in Pennsylvania, if anyone finds out where, I should be able to check it out next year.
I was going to try to get to APG, MD this Fall, but not likely as not much time off left this year. Rick

Looking at Google earth street view, it's an M113 APC with no trim vane.

M113 APC SN 19207 (on both rear lifting hooks) Painted RN- US Army 2 C 69569 (not original number?). I was in Seaford, DE today (12-6-2014) and checked it out. Anyone wants more photos, later today I'll post it on my flickr page. Rick

Louisville, KY
149th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, 35th ID, KY ARNG Armory
M60A3 Patton SN 4289, AAD Rebuild SN 2331A
38.204485,-85.748554

This one appears to be gone in circa 9/22/14 satellite imagery

Portsmouth, OH
Greater Portsmouth Regional Airport
-BMP-1/2?
38.839634,-82.849859

I'd seen this one on satellite imagery before, but recently added streetview allowed for some confirmation it was an AFV of some sort. I know it's not a great view, but anyone got a better guess at an ID?
