Relics still in use, and some not...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

BRDM-2 and BTR-60 wrecks at the Mali army camp next tot Gao airbase. Also located here are 12 PT-76 wrecks. According to the locals a lot of these vehicles were used in the war with Burkina Faso. Here also, it is more easy to take photo's of operational aircraft than armour wrecks....

Another BTR-60 located at a checkpoint near Gao. Although it is all very old and sometimes not operational they are very nervous when taking pictures. At the Gao Mali army camp were 3 operational ZSU-23/4, used for direct fire against ground targets, 4 operational PT-76s light tanks and a handfull of BTR-60PBs.
