Bovington
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The new "Tank Factory" exhibition will open at the end of the month.
Potentially this could be very cool. I can't wait to take a look at some pictures

Seems nice but, once again, it requires to reduce the amount of vehicles on display...

I was taking a look at next year calendar since I am considering to attend Tankfest. Then I realized there is "Tiger Day" in late April too... Ideally I would love to attend both, but most likely I have to pick one. Now I am torn...

On the picture of the Warrior, you can see a strip of metal bolted along the join of the glacis plate and the front armour. I remember hearing a story that that had been put there to protect the weld from being penetrated by lucky bullet/machine gun fire. Does anyone know if there is any truth in that?

Last time I visited Bovington I stayed at a B&B in Wool, the place was nice but Wool is really in the middle of nowhere and even going out for dinner was problematic.
This time I am thinking about an accommodation in another town, a place along the London-Weymouth railway from where I could reach Wool by train. Any suggestion?
