The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Firefly
A guy I know that is a notorious liar told me that a "private collector" emailed him and told him the he had just purchased a Sherman
firefly from a boneyard in Africa along with 2 other vehicles. He said the vehicles are coming to Ohio. So, I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of a Firefly for sale or recently sold in Africa. I'm pretty close to calling 'bullshit" on this one.

There's been few photos of Sherman(s) in a tank graveyard near Mogadishu, Somalia, so it's not completely unlikely.
