We’ve added a gallery of photos of the terrific Wisconsin Veterans Museum in Madison, WI. The museum is on the smallish size, but packs a wallop! Great diorama and artifact displays throughout! Definitely worth seeing when in Madison!

Just there last weekend. Well worth a visit, covers all eras from Civil War thru today.

If you are in the area, it's a must see.

And free.

I note that we can't see any picture of the Kuwait/Irak diorama in Paul and Lorén's set..

The museum's exhibit on Iraq/Afghanistan, "Faces in the Sand" wasn't on display when we were there. The article I found said it closed June 2010. We'll be glad to go back and get photos if you'll fund the time machine development costs!

You are absolutely correct, we did not photograph that display at all - other than through the ship model display case. I stand corrected.

Paul, do you have any info on what that nose attachment is on that UH-1 in the Vietnam exhibit?

Great pics, given the challenging lighting conditions.

I posted the gallery on a warbird site as well and the opinion from them was that the UH-1 has a sort of M5 grenade launcher attachment on the nose. I'm reminded of this kit (it was Monogram back in the day and I swear it had the shark mouth decal back then):

Paul is correct, it's an M5 40mm grenade launcher. The airframe is a UH-1C (broad chord tail fin) as opposed to the model box, which is a 'b" model with the standard tail.
