Exploring the ex-Yugoslavia..
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Exploring the ex-Yugoslavia..

Hello,

I'm back from a 7-days trip to Slovenia - Croatia - Serbia - Bosnia. The trip was wonderful. I've seen what I planned to see there, and I've done more things than expected (for example I didn't plan to see the Uzice Hotchkiss H-39). I met some very nice people there.

Here are the military-related pictures that I took during the trip. I concentrated on things people haven't photographed before. That's the reason why you will not find any picture of Belgrade Kalemegdan's German tanks !

just to let you know how wonderful the trip was, I didn't plan to see the Hotchkiss H-39 in Uzice. In fact, I even forgot that it existed. When I arrived near Uzice, the GPS told me to turn left, and I turned right, and I stumbled across this tank.

I've added a gallery of the Tehcnical Museum, Zagreb. Photos show a P-47 Thunderbolt, an Italian submarine and a L3-33 tankette among many other interesting artifacts..

Thanks P-O, great stuff as always.

In particular, thanks for the M47 data plate. That may help tie down some differences in construction between the plants that made them. Do you happen to have any other M47 data plate images?

Glad you were in Zagreb. The submarine is a Caproni CB, one of the two who survived WW II:
