She should look near Ulithi. Hundreds of A/C that were being stockpiled as fleet spares for operations off Japan were dumped off of the Escort Carriers that were transporting them so that the ships could be set up for Operation Magic Carpet to return service men home.Later the same was done for operational A/C that were on the fast carriers for the same reason. The war was over, the planes weren't needed, space for troops was. If they needed to re-equip the ships with A/C there were plenty sitting at the factories in the U.S.
