Reno Air Races!!!!!

Reno Air Races start this week!!!!!!

WoooHooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Qualifying was going on yesterday and today, and my favoritest racing aeroplane in the Unlimited class is race #77 - Rare Bear, the highly modified Grumman Bearcat. It currently has the pole position at a respectable 480.644 MPH qualifying lap. Keep in mind her best rated flat-out speed on a straight 3Km course is 528 MPH. Many years ago, too. Historically, she has usually struggled against Strega, the P-51 flown by Tiger Destafani, but that appears to be up in the air this year as I believe that plane has changed owners.

Probably a good bet, as that fellow Gibson is said to know his way around a cockpit. Wink

Well it seems that Strega did indeed take the Gold, but that was on Sunday, a couple of days before your bet was placed. Wink

Glad to see Rare Bear keep the pressure on at least. Next year!!

Well it seems that Strega did indeed take the Gold, but that was on Sunday, a couple of days before your bet was placed.

Glad to see Rare Bear keep the pressure on at least. Next year!!

Guess I should have doubled the bet then.
