Winnebago Co. Courthouse - Forest City, IA - M4A3(105)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Winnebago Co. Courthouse - Forest City, IA - M4A3(105)
Hi All,

We’ve added a gallery of photos M4A3(105) SN 72945 on display in Forest City, IA at the Winnebago County Courthouse. The AFV Registry lists the SN as 57837, but we crawled around and got photos with the first four numbers, 7294 that are very clear and what looks like a 5 as the final number. We’ve posted a number of photos of the tow lug to the gallery to facilitate discussion. Opinions as to what the final digit may be are, of course, welcome.

We also used the camera pole to take photos through the open underside escape hatch and, while getting SN shots, stuck the camera into the empty engine compartment. Who knows how to have fun, eh?

interestingly, 72946 is preserved as an M74 TRV in Bastogne barracks in Belgium.
