M32 tank recovery vehicles - survivors
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The Holy Grail would be to find out what happened to any of the of the USMC M32B2. There was a tantalizing picture on eBay a few year back that I lost a bid on (and I bidded very high for this pic) that looked to be a large hatch M32B2 with E8 suspension taken post-war. The obvious conclusion would be that it was a T14E1 except for the boom feet supports which were welded to the hull at an angle like the large hatch M32B2 and not vertical like the T14E1. Whoever won the bid (and it was only him and I bidding) paid a pretty price for it so I don't think it was a casual collector but knew what he was biding on. The picture has never surfaced since then.

I don't think there is any survivor based on an M4A2, infortunately.

I was at the Wright Museum a few years back and I was in their storage barn, I did not see a M32. Other than that it looks good.

Hi,

M32s in Ayub National Park, Rawalpindi, Pakistan are missing

and M32 in Museo Memoriale della Libertà, Bologna (Italy) is a B3 not a B1.

Out of curiosity, how can you tell it is a M4A2? Also note, on the front of the hull on the hatch thing the protrudes off the hull it says M32BII (Aka M32B2.

the way the front hull is constructed, you can tell it's not an M4A3. So it's either an M4; or an M4A2. The red lines indicate the welds.

This is an M4 / M4A2 front glacis :

That one is a Pakistani converted M32. There is also a picture floating around of a Greek converted M32 based on a M4A4 hull.
