Bovington
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

So it seems the ex-APG Elefant will be in Bovington in 2017! Shocked

That fits very well to my plans to attend Tank Fest 2017

Rumors were circulating already since last year. It's now confirmed inside the Museum's printed newsletter.

What about meeting in Bovington for Tank Fest 2017?

WAT!?!?!?!?! Who is paying for that??? Are they going to do an Interior resto while it is there, or even make it run???

Didnt it take 30 years for the Tiger to come back? Rolling Eyes

I have no idea who is paying for that, I can imagine a sponsor or something like that.

I don't think they can make it run, the complexity of it mechanical design make it pretty much out of the question.

When they converted it to a Ferdinand/Elephant, didn't the install the regular Mayback 230 engines used in later Tigers and remove the Porsche powerpack? If that is the case, and the engines are in good shape, and if this "sponsor" has extra cash to spend, it is "possible".

If the newsletter available online? Love to read the article.
