Post Littlefield Aution project.
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Post Littlefield Aution project.

Guys, I am thinking about doing a project on the vehicles and purchasers at the Littlefield auction. I have a pretty good idea where quite a few pieces of the Littlefield collection went and I bet many of you do too. I know for a fact we will not beable to know where they all are, but atleast we will know where some are.

First thing I am trying to do is complete my buyers number list, hopefully I can go from there. I need lots: 1001-1051, 1068-1072, 1080-1084, 1108, 5002. If you can help with 1 or all, it all helps.

Does this sound like something anyone would like to carry out? I can not do it by myself.

Thanks.

Do you want the vehicle with the corresponding lot number and where it ended up?

Yes if known.

I also am trying to finish my buyers number list so I we can know what else they purchased. The numbers I need are listed above.

I left business cards in just about every vehicle before they were shipped out. I heard back from less than 10% of the buyers. Here's what I have from those who contacted me, seen online, or have actually visited in person.

Woah, thats interesting. I am really glad the Rapier stayed in the US since you can not bring them in anymore.

I wonder if the King of Jordan bought the Conqueror, it probably cost as much as the tank itself to get it over there.

What happened with the M50? Was it resold after?

Thanks for the info. I am posting on the G trying to finish my list of bidder numbers.

All your help is greatly appreciated.

Jim, The Panzer Fabrik web site shows the Lynx being driven hard, and some weird paint schemes on both sides. Not yet turned into a tacky-Panzer but paint schemes are horrible. Rick

Yes it was Sad

That was the first or second prototype that went to Canada for testing. I have pictures of it being photographer at different angles and during the swimtest.

Toadman, Add this to your list that went to Australia. M52, M114, and a Staghound AA. Source: AAAM FB page. They supposedly bought 12 vehicles all together.

What became of the M4A3E2? Did that go to the Collings Foundation?

It was put up on the auction block but didn't meet the reserve. I believe it is still in the hands of the Collings Foundation but I will have to ask my contact.

The T-54AR (1060) and Samson Recovery Vehicle (1027) ended up in Ontario. I saw them a couple of weeks ago at the Aquino Tank Day at the Oshawa Tank Museum.

Cheers,

Scott

It's still in California and is a part of the collection.
