Saumur's B1 bis' real identity revealed
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Saumur's B1 bis' real identity revealed
hello,

Saumur has two B1 bis, one inside the museum named "Rhône", and one in running condition. Formerly known as "Flandres", it has been restored recently. A "Renault" manufacturer plate has been added by the Germans after 1940. When this plate has been removed some months ago, some paint and markings remnants allowed the museum to discover the tank's real identity. This vehicle belonged to the 41st BCC and was named "Rhin". Some color pictures have been discovered recently, and the tank has been repainted accordingly and accurately :
