Hi All,

I'm fortunate to be working a gig in Tokyo for a few months and have been going museum hopping as much as I can and funds allow. We made the trip to the Yushukan - Tokyo War Museum and had good luck taking photos. At the museum there are:

Model 96 15 cm Howitzer and Type 89 150mm Heavy Gun both from Okinawa

Type 97 Tank recovered from Saipan.

Many smaller displays.

Yes, it's fascinating! Very controversial as it puts forth very strongly that Japan was 'forced' into defending itself by the US and has a LOT of very revisionist history. The shrine in which the museum is located is strongly associated with a glorification of the Japanese military.

Putting that aside though, it does have a lot of interesting artifacts.

Thanks for taking such detailed images of the Type 97. Always was interested in IJA vehicles and it REALLY must be nice being in Tokyo too!
