Panther tank conversion. The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

A short while ago I found a book called “Not in Vain� by Ken Bell (1973) in a second hand book store. There was a interesting picture of a Panther in its after life.

Hi, not too much of a surprise, when you consider that the French Army used Panthers after the war. In 1947, a battalion of the French 503rd Armored Regiment was formed using 50 Panthers. After the French "retired" the Panther, I imagine a number were sold to scrap dealers or for civilian use.
