I have two boys, but if I had a daughter...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

....this would be her. Beach combing along the sandy stretches of Hilton Head island. However I'm sure she would rather carry an M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Rifle) as it is lighter than an M60, even though it doesn't quite carry the punch.

Quite the athlete. She's probably "carrying" more than her body weight in weapon and ammo.

I hate to burst everyones bubble but I'm pretty sure this is a 'Photoshop Special' Look at the shadows. Why is the M-60 Shadow so much darker than the girls?

I think you're right, Bob...the shoulder strap doesn't look at all real.

Ahhhh, Man....couldn't let the guys have their fantasy, could ya'?

Hence the quotation marks around "carrying" in my previous post. The crudely drawn in carrying strap on the 60 was another giveaway.

Yep, my recollection (and that of my shoulder) is that an M60 in that config weighs 23lbs....with that "strap" it would carve her little arm off at the shoulder. Then there's the ammo....

During my very brief time in college (I dropped out after a semester and a half) I took part in a couple of Army ROTC FTX's. Being the lightest and skinniest guy (boy, has that changed!) in the bunch, I got stuck lugging the squad M-60 around. 23 pounds doesn't sound like much, but after toting it the first couple of miles it seemed more like 230. The handles on those belt boxes were none too comfy for extended carrying, either.

Well, personally I think a weapon like that is only approriate for a girl (or her father) when she reaches dating age. Laughing

Best,

I found that sitting in the Living Room reading 'Special Forces Interrogation Tactics' and having 'How to make anyone disappear' sitting on the coffee table was subtle yet effective.

Bob

Can I borrow those,....I have a 14 year old daughter !!!!

Although cleaning and sharpening my genuine (reproduction) 'Sykes-Fairbaine' knife tends to limit the conversations to "....its nice to meet you SIR!..." Shocked

I have three younger sisters. Growing up, I remember my dad having his guns out and in various stages of tear-down while cleaning them on the floor in front of the TV. My sisters boyfriends would have to walk right by him and his guns to get into the house. I know I would have been intimidated had I been one of the guys seeing my sisters.
Yeah I knew it was fake, but I thought it was funny and look at all the conversation it caused! More pics to follow as I find them!
