A "Valentine" for you armor types...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The Valentine was a popular and reliable British tank that was designed in 1938, but delivered too late to feature in France. It made a name for itself in the North African campaign where, despite being extremely cramped and lacking the armour of its contemporaries, it was mechanically reliable and coped well with the introduction of the 6 pdr gun. Over 8,275 Valentines were built, representing a quarter of UK tank production during World War 2.

Here is a special Valentine for you armor types. Funny what you find when you type "Military Valentine" into Google. I don't know squat about this vehicle except it seems to fit for this upcoming week. I suggest printing it and giving it to your significant other, as a "Valentine fit for any wife that puts up with our hobby (obsession for some) haha. Enjoy!!

Great photos - again thanks for sharing Smile

Does these photos show Valentines being assembled at Montreal Locomotive Works , destined for the Soviet Union ?

Cheers

No and yes. The Valentine IIs (1,420 of them) were made at the CPR's Angus Works in Montreal. Montreal Locomotive Works, was a different outfit and it made Rams, Grizzlies and Sextons. The bulk (1,390) of the Canadian made Valentines were sent to the USSR. One, eventually, came back to Canada after spending most of the intervening 50 years at the bottom of the Dniepr (it was lost during the Cherkasy encirclement). It now resides in the Canadian War Museum.
