I saw a P Floyd tribute band back in 86-87 that I think was called "First Light", they were REAL good as well. They played at Ohio University in Athens Ohio. My first concert was new England, UFO, and Cheap Trick all together. I saw P.Floyd at the Cleveland Colisium in 87. Grateful Dead at Legend Valley (might have a new name now) in 1988, awsome show! Worst show ever was Ted Nugents "Intensity in Ten Cities" tour. He passed out on stage in the middle of Wango Tango. Band kept playing and as he slowly got up he started singing Cat Scratch Fever instead. Lots of Booing, sad, I like Ted.

Lucky devils...I never saw the 'Floyd (BTW, which one is Pink?)

Memorable concerts:

Jimi Hendrix, Charlotte Coliseum '69 (also saw Steppenwolf that year, but nothing like the "brother from another planet"....)

It's a Beautiful Day, Louisville auditorium, 1972.

Bob Dylan AND "The Band" together, Charlotte Coliseum 1974 (the concert album tour...and a girlfriend took me who already had tickets from her brother!)

Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, and Bob Seger in a three week period, Charlotte Coliseum, 1978 ("Darkness on the Edge of Town" and "Running on Empty" tours. Seger paled by comparison....)

Elton John and Billy Joel in a couple months period, Salt Palace, Salt Lake City 1982. Not only did Elton blow Billy Joel into the weeds as an entertainer, he OPENED with "Love Lies Bleeding" and there was a failure on the guitar mike/amps for the first half of the song. He never missed a beat, it was as if it was written that way, and if you hadn't been there to see it (or closed your eyes to not see the feverish roadies working to fix it) you'd have never known it wasn't supposed to be performed like that. The single most impressive display of performance professionalism I've ever seen).

There were others, but that's the cream...so to speak.

Acts I regret missing:
Led Zepplin, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd.

Jimmy Buffet every year at William and Mary College 'til he stopped coming. What a party.....

Seen Steady Ted a few times and always was a good show. Poor dude hit bottom on the booze and road life right around then - luckily he got it back together but too bad you caught one of the shows from that timeframe.
