Post subject: Firing Up FS9 Again

Oh by the way Stoopy, I'm flying that Loach on Hovercontrol this saturday afternoon for a major flight they are holding. I'll be in the CHP version, in a police chase over Los Angeles. I'll be flying one of 3 police helos, and there will be a number of TV & private helos above us. I thought you and Fr8tycat might like to know that your helo will be seen by a few others in a major venue. It's been said that someone may video everything as well in that flight. If they do, I'll post a link to the video. I'm also planning to take a few screenies as well.

I think they're doing a low-speed bus chase...why they didn't call me to do a fast chase with Bill Lyons XK-120 Jag I don't understand at all! Rolling Eyes

The low speed chase is only one of the events for the day. They have a surf classic, a movie premier, brush fires, car crashes, and an investication of a pier that has turned sidewise on the beach. It's going to be great. It turns out there are 2 CHP, 2 LAPD, 1 LASD a fire helo, and at least 3 TV helos, and a med chopper. There will also be a few other possible helos like other TV and private craft as well as a bus. Those are the ones that I know about, and there will be a few others that may try to join us.

Very cool Wingnut. I did see the post over at HC a while back but it looked like it wasn't going anywhere (ironing out opinions).

Get a screenie if you can and share.

Saw a story in the LA Times here on the border with of course a shot of a border patrol helo.............yep the OH6.

I like it. It looks like the low skid version. You need to get one done of it for your helo. That flight at Hovercontrol was bad. The server had so much lag, and frame rates were so low, that even with your helo, I had difficulty flying. I had to disconnect from the server to control the aircraft. I did get a couple pictures. One was recently posted on the Hovercontrol forum. Its an overhead shot of the helo hovering over a major traffic accident. You will like it. Oh, what became of the float version? I've been waiting and looking forward to it. Also Transload Virtual Airlines has done a repaint version of all three of these Cayuse helos. I suggested them to the fleet person. You will like the paint jobs that Garry Smith did on them. The Military version you did with the minigun is in the Army division, and the high & low skid versions are in the Helicopter division.

Saw the "wreck" pic over at HC, Very nice.

Took a look over at Transload VA but didn't see any pics. When available post or give a link, I would like to see them.

The float vers. is for the most part done. Both parties (fr8ycat & Stoopy) just taking a break and catching up with other obligations, the last minute rush we did to get the released versions of the "6" took a lot out of us (or at least me, and I'm sure Stoopy as well).

I've learned not to estimate release dates, cause you never make em', but it's safe to say by fall 2006 LOL.

Fall? Hey, we might make spring! Dangit I wanted to make March to coincide with the opening of Vermont Fish-Shooting season, but like you say, fr8ycat, there've been some other projects (something the IRS wanted I believe) and some breathing room taken....

Truth is I need to just wrap up those float textures but I don't know a damn thing about floats. I'm sure there aren't technically accurate panel lines they have to have, but I'm worried that some expert from EDO will see something and corner us on proper davit alignment, oar retention-clip authenticity, or drain-hole size (don't go there!!) or whatever, and try to box our ears about it.

Plus there's this annoying alignment problem on one of the (many) white stripes on the side of the "Kitform" paint version that doesn't blend right that is driving me NUTZ!!!!!!!!! Not sure I wanna re-do the whole side of that scheme....I wanted to do it right for the guy.

How's end of March sound? That way, we can make May!

Try this link for the only picture of the download. It is the download page for the aircraft. www.transloadairlines....rcraft.htm
If it doesn't work go to the website www.transloadairlines.com and click on the button for helicopter division. When that page comes up, on the right side there will be a button that says aircraft. Click on it and the Cayuse is the first on on the list. The response I've heard about it has been completely favorable. In fact Dan, our webmaster always test flys everything before he posts them, and he added an autohover gauge to the panel for those at TLV that wanted one. He loved it as well. The army version can be found the same way. only using the Army division button first, then the aircraft button and scroll down to the helo. It now has a red tail. Be aware they don't put your paint jobs on their helos, but they do post the complete aircraft. You do get credit for the aircraft on the site. as does Gary Smith the airline painter. All downloads are free to any who want them.

Can't you use 'artistic' licence Stoopy to ease the pain?
I'm sure it will look OK if it's anything like the preview version.

I probably could, but I've mugged two local artists now and neither had any such license in their wallets...and hardly any cash!

Got it Wingnut, looks good. Always good to see others enjoying it. Seeing the other helo's available, looks like it's with good company.
Also thanks for keeping the readme intact Wink

Aw Stoop. I didn't see anything wrong with it but then again I'm not very picky. Can understand wanting perfection, still striving for it myself Mr. Green

May sounds good..........it's the first 3 letters of MAY-BE Laughing
