Post subject: What does this mean??

Just when things were going good this popped up. I just installed a G-Force 5500 graphics card. Got the newest drivers installed
When I start CFS3 this comes up. Can you help?

It says
"The configuration override file is out of date. Please re-run CFS3. CFS3 will now exit."

I have seen that sucker in the past also Bullet,,,,it was one of those things that came by for a visit for no real apparent reasons..I kinda remember just restarting the game and it being alrite........most definitly check into your cfs3 config, go all the way into everything including overides,,,,maybe even tinker around in there like we did that day with Booray long ago.......remember that when closing out of the configuration window to hit exit.....not the X in the upper right corner....I think that made all the difference.....well.....I not the right guy persay to be helping,,,,but it will be an easy fix I assure you.........

That happens when you change hardware/drivers sometimes.

I believe it's because the game tries to start with the old settings and notes the difference then resets the config to default and closes.

Normaly what I do when I change drivers or vid card is to run the cfs3config.exe and set everything up then start the game

Yep, Like Dakota says...

Start/programs/microsoft games/CFS3/ Run CFS3Config.

Once it says CFS3 has been configured, that's it, the game will start normally now.

If you want to tweak your game graphics for more eye candy or whatever, I would do it from RunCFS3Config and not within the game from the options menu or various settings will be set back to default.

If you do use the display option within the game, just remember to RunCFS3config again to tweak the system for best FPS

Rgr..Dakota and Kit are right... Wink

You know, my son in law just bought a brand new X-Box and couldn't wait to show his father in law. Knowing his father in law (me) is into gaming his first game he wanted to show me was Madden Football. WOW...that football game is very cool! Next, he wanted to show me Call of Duty. Graphics looked nice and the game started up. About half way through the first board, something happened....yep.....you guessed it.....it locked up...lol Nice to know some things stay consistent in life. Thanks MS...lol
