The Merkavas all seem to have the over-barrel mountings for 12.7mm machine guns.

The .50cal mounted over the gun is for counter sniper/manual ranging as It has been explained to me in the past.

The Merkava is one cool lookin' tank ... would like to see an R/C version!

Hmm... But they're probably too wide to be antennas huh?

They look wide for antennae, but just right for "bows" over which to hang some sun cover when in static postions. Never seen this on a Bradley, but recall an M109 used to guard a junk yard that had an improvised "tent" to protect the crew from the sun when standing guard.

The wheeled armoured personnel carriers in Darfur are Canadian Grizzly 6X6 machines on loan to African Union forces.

Those Nepali vehicles aren't BTRs (which are usually 8-wheelers), they could be French VABs.
