T92 light tank kit on Ebay...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I had a quick peek at one someone had. Not as nice as the ITC version, but closer to a usable scale. Mine is the 1/24 scale one, which makes it rather big but can be used with the available 1/24 scale Jeeps.

Never heard of that version. Here is a photo layout of the instructions and some of the parts of my kit:
photos.kitmaker.net/sh...?cat=12267
The photo at step 5 shows the interior where it used to be motorized. The pictures of the one they had at APG had the tracks replaced with M24 style tracks. It would have been a cool looking ride.

Wellllllll....I just happen to have an image uploaded to Photobucket. This (and my matching Weasel) and slothand/ringhand toy soldiers) were all the rage in the seldom-reported Skyland Community Wars on the Wawona Terrace Front 1961-63. The kit was easily re-assembled, should it fall victim to the feared dirt clod squash-head round....simply insert tabs for bottom (A) into top (B).
This is an original from that era (Thanks to the internet) except for the gun tube, which is some aluminum tubing I had that replaces the original wooden-dowel-rod-painted-silver barrel. This is obviously an early pilot version lacking the two outboard gun positions on the turret.

Though never accepted into the inventory, this model offered excellent crew protection and stood up far better to the rigors of backyard assaults than say, your average Revell kit.

The hull is 6-7" long, the figures 2-2.5" tall....with (and here's the really cool part...) interchangeable weapons, belts, accessories. This made them WAY kewler than standard molded plastic toy soldiers. I'll post a pic of the combo later when I get home and can upload to the 'Bucket. Wink
I had two boats for these guys, too, but haven't been able to find replacements for those...

You can find MPC military (and other, like firemen, cowboys, fantasy) stuff at:
www.angelfire.com/biz/...MPCww.html

Note especially the way they made interchangable accessories (and, of course, you could improvise your own, which I often did). These guys had either "ringhand" or "slothand" grips (or both in the same figure) and were very versatile.
Note the Weasel and t92 are "sold out"....guess who got those!

This website has a lot of other toy soldier stuff for sale, I made one big purchase of MPC stuff and was completely satisfied.

I could never get the equipment belts to 'buckle'

I also remember them in blue and gray for Civil War soldiers with long muzzleloader rifles.

Laughing Well, the plastic is kinda' thick and stiff on the sprue, so you had to first "form" them with some engergetic "curling" or they tend to pop apart. The ones with the little ball-and-slot fasteners are pretty easy, but the ones with the little hook-and-tang thingy don't hold as well so "pre-forming" is pretty much a necessity. A little heat was useful here...never be shy about using heat!

Yeah, they used the same basic format from everthing from soldiers, to spacemen and cowboys and firemen and police and whatever. The scale was larger than most toy soldiers and the accessories more plentiful and adaptable (mounts for M2 .50cals, and stuff like that)...you could "enhance" these with stuff of your own, unlike simple molded bits. I made great use of CO2 cartridges for a pellet gun as everthing from A-bombs to underwater scooters. Wire and rope fit right in these guys' hands, as well as numerous improvised meleé weapons for CQB. Mr. Green

The RP Hunnicutt book Sheridan, a History of the American Light Tank volume 2 (volume 1 is the Stuart book) covers all light tanks from the Walker Bulldog to the Stingray/MGS and covers the T92 airborne tank.

Damn. This book and the Heavy Tank book he wrote are gonna set me back about $500! Oh how I wish these books would be reprinted and/or available as an ebook...

Thanks for the link! Gonna have to put it on my "I really want it but don't need it" list... maybe I'll come into some kind of financial windfall. Smile

You think these are bad try and find his 'Patton' volume on the M-46 to M-60 series or the Stuart volume Sad

I got real lucky on the Patton volume and shopped a while for the Stuart volume (It was the last one I needed for a complete set)
