Although never confirmed, Fled's lawn darting earned him a few bruises!! I can still feel that right hook myself!

Mind you, the cocktails in 'The Hole' were legendary.

There was a character called Pancho who if I remember correctly, used to run a bar near to Edwards Air Force Base, frequented by all the test pilots in the late '40's and '50's - she was frequently mentioned in Chuck Yeagers autobiography (great read by the way!). Whenever I meet Helga I think of her as our own Pancho!!

Helga, more properly Uhu_Helga (Helga Eisbaer) is the mascot of NJG7 squadron and the infamous proprieter of the officers club "Helga's Hole" at our base in Germany. She is well known for her bartending and chiropractic skills. NJG7 home
