The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: 3d ACR Beret

Anybody got an idea where I might find a 3d ACR black beret from the 70's? Mainly looking for the flash as I can buy a new beret and unit crest. I hope to some day get involved in re-enactment type stuff at the Patton Museum. Thought about burglarizing Roy Lingle's house but have heard he is armed and dangerous! If I got caught in his house he would tie me up and talk about M114's for hours. Would rather get the 'water torture'! Wink

'Weed,
If anyone would have an old Red and White flash for a beret it would be Mr. Kim's Sewing shop on Wilson Drive on top of the hill. He doesn't throw anything away. Other than that maybe he can make you one. BTW, how's the Sheriden repair work going? My offer still stands.

...and if that fails, lemme' know. With a good image and exact dimensions, I can have a near perfect replica made through contacts.

Thanks, all! I'll try Kim's shop. Haven't worked on the Sheridan anymore (yet). But I certainly intend to. It will need a new TC. Dontos will be transferring to the Ontos. Dontos gave me and Chris C. an all day tour of the museum and motorpool. Had a great day. Doug, someone sure did some good work on that insignia.

Hi Mark! Hi Folks!

Sorry Mark, the only one I have is on my old 3rd ACR Beret. Sad

Stop by anytime, I would love to talk about the Lingle with you! Twisted Evil
