~S~ All
The Clarence 'Kelly' Johnson Memorial Contest
is open from May 6th to July 6th

www.screenshotart.com/...mp;site=38

Contest Details

Please read this page in full before you enter

1. What's it all about?

This contest is open to entries from any flight simulator game, be it commercial or military aviation. There is one category, you can enter edited or un-edited pictures. You can enter as many pictures as you like. You will be allowed to change your entries as often as you like until the contest closes.

2. When does it start?

The contest started on May 6th 2006 and closes on July 6th 2006 Midnight GMT

3. What pictures can you enter?

a) Edited

Using a mixture of flight simulation games, digital editing software, photographs and/or digital painting, edited pictures are for those looking to make more than a standard screenshot. You can edit your pictures as you like with one exception:

The picture MUST feature models from a flight simulator, at least, to qualify. Standard editing of models, including some painted elements, is fine but only to enhance the model.

Please note: Contact me if you need clarification of the above rule before entering

You can use custom skins/scenery as you wish.

b) Un-edited

Un-edited pictures are for those taking a single shot picture without any editing. It is very possible to make stunning pictures straight from a game. You can resize (crop) and adjust resolution but no other forms of editing are allowed in this category.

If your picture breaks any of the rules in this contest your picture will be ignored by the judges but not necessarily deleted. You will not be informed if your shot breaks the rules although I will happily reply to any questions that may arise. You are responsible for your entry.

Important:

Kelly designed or contributed to over 40 aircraft and this contest is obviously in honour of his great achievements. As such you can only enter pictures featuring the following aircraft. By all means include other aircraft but the main subject will need to be one of the following for it to have any chance of being selected:

Orion 9D
Model 10 and Model 12 Electra/XC-35/C-36/Y1C-37
Model 14 Super Electra
Model 18 Lodestar
PV-1 Ventura/B-37
P-38 Lightning
Constellation/Super Constellation
F-80 Shooting Star
T-33/TV-2 trainers
P2V Neptune
XF-90
F-94 Starfire
X-7
F-104 Starfighter
C-130 Hercules
U-2
Blackbird family: A-11, A-12, YF-12, SR-71, M-21, and D-21
JetStar/C-140
AH-56 Cheyenne

4. How and where to post and change entries

All entries need to be posted at www.screenshotart.com following the supplied link to the Competition Gallery. You will need to register to post your entry, this is so we can contact you and maintain control of the contest. Once in the Competition Gallery follow the instructions on posting and changing your entries.

5. Image Sizes

All images will be auto re-sized to 1024x768 if larger when posted. There are no other file size limitations.

You should all retain full size versions of your pictures which we will ask for should you make it to the finals. If your original is in .tiff for example this will be used for printing, so keep it safe.

All images posted to the competition gallery MUST be in jpg format. This will not change for anyone for any reason.

6. Voting

Initial voting will be carried out online by Staff at Screenshot Art.com, selected judges and myself down to 20 pictures. A full list of these judges, responsibile for filtering all entries down to 20 pictures, will be availble nearer the time. Anyone who enters the contest cannot be a judge.

Once entries are down to 20 pictures participating professional Aviation Artists will filter these pictures down to the final 6.

These 6 pictures will be displayed permanently at both the Clarence 'Kelly' Johnson Memorial in Michigan.

7. Copyright Issues

Any Copyright infringments are the responsibility of the individuals entering this contest. Trustees of the Clarence 'Kelly' Johnson Memorial , Screenshot Art.com and listed sponsors of this contest are not responsible for any copyright infringements. If you are using photographs in your pictures please use photographs in the public domain, with no copyright (morgue files for example) or your own photographs.

You give full permissions for the Trustees of the Clarence 'Kelly' Johnson Memorial and Screenshot Art.com to use your images as required without your prior consent or fee. If your image is used you will be given full credit for your work.

By entering this contest you are agreeing to the terms and conditions detailed above.

Did he have a role in the Turboprop Electra/P-3 Orion?
