What's This? (Quiz)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Is it upside down by chance?


Looking at the flange around the edge, I wonder if it might have fit (facing down) in the top of the turret bustle? It seems to be close to the right size for the top opening. On the other hand, perhaps it does load from the top, which would make it right side up as it sits now.

I would love to see some pics or drawings of this thing installed in service/testing.

It would probably fit perfect in the bustle. I was thinking it might have also been used on the "HIMAG" testing.
I looked for a photo of the M-1 based HIMAG but couldn't find one. Ontos? The M-1 based HIMAG had all three crew members in the front with the driver in the middle.
