Gentlemen, I will do my best to inventory the items at each museum as well as request a list from the museum director. I believe the M60A3 you mention that is due to be on display, is going to a neighboring town, (Harkerheights I believe) for a display is their new town square. There was an article on the front of last weeks Killeen paper that discussed the tank going on display there. Of major issue was the cost of up-keep for the tank. Killeen has a nice M47 and a Cobra Helicopter in its square, (which I intend to photograph and post eventually) and there was much comparison to the two sites.
I know I offered Dontos a place to stay if ever down Ft Hood way, but the offer is open to anyone on this DG, bsmart, Joe_D, and so on.

As a side note: My last official Tank Gunnery Qualification (Tank Table VIII) was shot on 'Sugarlaof' in May 01. As a Platoon Sgt/Tank Commander, Me & my crew fired a 785 (Qualified first run) on my M1A2. Not the best score, but with M1A2 gunnery, it don't come easy.

I departed Ft. Hood in June 01 satisified with my final Tank Gunnery Qualification, and really proud of my Platoon. (4 first run qualified tanks, 2-'Table X' qualified sections, & Superior ranked 'Table XII' Platoon score).

Satisifaction in knowing that perhaps I made a difference.

It off-topic nut I was interested. How do you qualify with tankgunnery in the US army, is this only single tank engagement?

This because we have to several single tank engagements followed by section engagements of which one is the section qualification run which is monitored by a mastergunner of the division. When qualified for section you go on with platoon engagements of which one is the qualification run for platoon work, also monitored by a mastergunner of the division.

When the platoon is qualified for platoon engagements you are allowed to do live fire exercises with infantry, artillery etc.

The exact exercises and targets involved I don't have at hand because I have holiday at the moment.

Yahoo groups has been blocked the last few times I tried to access it along with MSN hotmail. I surprised I can even get on this forum. I was going to send Donto's a picture of a derelic T72 for him to post for me. I have been told that at night the sites are available. I will try again later.
