ID Help Needed
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Forgive me, but beside the M47, is that an LVT(A)? or am I off entirely? These are the best pics I have found...

Here's another one. A BTR-? or TAB-77? or some-other some-such?

Due to the tan Hummer with green doors in the background of the first picture, what military post were you on to find these vehicles?, a reserve / National Guard post?

Nah - common mistake perpetuated by Wikepdia amongst others. The 'owners' manual calls it LVTC-3 so we have to assume thats correct... though I suspect it may have originally been called LVT-3C till someobody realised they still had the originals in service..

Cool

No - Crismon mentions it in his US Military Tracked Vehicles. Yuba also produced a wheeled gun tractor powered by steam!

Cool

Sounds like some kind of Hollywood sci-fi/post apocolyptic fantasy Rolling Eyes

Who (or what) is Yuba?

I have pics of 2-3 early American tanks powered by steam...of course, they're at home where I ain't.

M47 though, is definitely in another time frame...
