Fort Bliss - Roy, any new 1AD AFVs on display yet?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi Bob! Hi Folks!

The old outdoor display had an open gate and was not guarded. Razz Any one of any size could climb all over any of the items without anyone saying anything. As a G.I., I sat in a number of gunner seats to check out the view....

It was quite open to access back then. At some point during that time (1978-79?) there were some problems with post security so a fence was erected around the entire post. At the Museum, a roving guard was posted and no 'after hours' visits could be made.
