Hydrokopteri - Finnish Border Patrol Vehicle.
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Not exactly armor, but I thought you guys would like this thing. I've seen quite a few all across Finland, including one in a museum. I guess they've been being made, with improvements, for years and years. The border guard still actively uses them.

They're weird cars, propelled by the propeller at back. They float, so they can be driven in water, they have retractable skis for ice, and retractable wheels for roads. They're the perfect patrol vehicles for a place like Finland, as they can really can go just about anywhere - especially in winter. I can't quite remember, but I think the one in the museum I saw might have been able to go in reverse by reversing the propeller or some such odd thing.

I wonder if they have ever been armed? I know many vehicles that most people think were never armed, like the Swedish BV-206, were in fact armed sometimes, the BV-206 being armed with a ring turret and some sort of gun. One of these things with some manner of ring turret would be very cool looking.

Just thought those of you who have never seen one of these things would get a kick out of it.

Hi Benjamin! Hi Folks!

Thanks for the links!
That's a very interesting vehicle, I would love to test drive one!
