These two vehicles were parked beside the M60's at the 1st Cav museum. The M47 was serial number 8537, USA number is 3C168736. The M48 had very thick paint, multiple layers, and was the worst looking of all the tanks at the museum. I looked in through the top engine area to see no engine present. I stuck my camera inside and snapped the picture of a truely "gutted" and rusty vehicle. Makes me think that it was originaly suppossed to be a target somewhere.

I have to agree with you on the premise that this 48 was intended for a range target or a test target. Never seen one gutted as such. Crying or Very sad
