Be sure to notice the really cool exhaust stack effects...and EASE the throttle on during takeoff. DO NOT even think about firewalling the throttle untill you're about halfway down your run...

This is a keeper....(and one big file, I might add!)

I see some dogfights coming on with the bf109!

Very nice indeed, excellent work and one heck of an effort by the team involved.

Since it's a pre-release package, I'll report (here) that it installed and flew with no major problems, just a few minor items that you'd expect in a BETA version is all. Since there are some strange usage rights tied to this one (thanks for the heads-up on that too), I have now deleted the verboten screen shot - and the a/c folder also just to make sure no one is placed at risk. Was a nice package and nice work tho!

Manolo

Manolo says, the Manolo is noticing also the timing of the debut on the runway (Manolo is a devotee of the runway!), coming as it does on the eves of the racing of the around the world. While some of the paint and accessories (Manolo just LOVES super fantastic accessories!) seem of the custom for teams of the lavatory. The tanks of the drop give just the sort of sensible but kicky fashion sense to pilots (Manolo just LOVES the pilots!) who are of the wish to extend their range with a 400+mph plane of the air.

It will be of the great advantage to enter into such a bird of the war for a racing of the world!

Certainly you do sense the finer points which lay within this aerial racing chariot, Senor Manolo. Certain of us are observant also of the speed, range, ease of flying, and curious restrictions regarding the publication of it's presence. Torquemada is almost reminded of events in past Crusades wherein subtle modifications to airborne chariots gave questionable advantage in the arena of honorable competition.
I should be most inquisitive of this, were it not for the already numerous stable of virtual aviationeering equipment already available to the hobbyist, and which are sufficient for those of even moderate levels of skill.

Manolo says, the Manolo he is the super excited to be noticed by the Eminence that is the Torquemada! The Manolo, he was squealing (with the delight, for now) when he was reading your post! The Manolo has been of the respect for the inquisitiveness of the Torquemada for many years...and has long admired his sense of style. The aristocratic robes of the Eminence, and the fashionable leathers of his many assistants are of an authoritative confidence that one finds only with those comfortable with their celebrity...like the David Hasselhof *sigh*.
The Manolo is not having of the details of the mysterioso aspects of the release of the plane of the air, but hopes the Torquemada will see fit to "put Manolo to the question" with some of his gorgeous assistants and their instruments of the special place! (But please, do not hurt the feet of the Manolo...).

btw is the sty scenery up anywhere i didnt think it was done yet?

LOL...well I was enlisted as a 'BETA tester' for the sty scenery so I'm guilty of probably passing along too many "teaser shots" of it...can't stay away form the area now, all my flights start or end there. I believe, the arteeest is near done, knowing Ascout he's probably priming up the usual hilarious readme.txt file for it, and he's also just released his "mountain hideout" scenery at hovercontrol....maybe he doesn't want to have too much material released back-to-back....I mean, look at what that did for Peter Frampton's career. Oops, you may not know that one...errr, think "Back Street Boys"..... Rolling Eyes

As for the plane...well, hey go to the link and download it yurself for a gander, and check out the readme (you'll have to pay attention to the readme anyway since the install requires manual file manipulation after extraction) and it'll make more sense 'Specially the drift that, ummm, 'Manolo' and Torq are hittin' on. Round-The-World race comin' up and all for some folks, remember, so a specially-prepared custom steed isn't something you want blatantly advertised beforehand...

About that last part, I was SO disappointed to read this in the forum where the plane has limited distribution and an admonition to NOT post screenies elsewhere. And this post was AFTER someone else's that made reference to a "secret weapon" for the race.
This reply was by not only a moderator, but an ADMINISTRATOR of the forum. Can you say "ringer"?

You've got a somewhat volatile mix involved....developer-types who are savvy with creating whatever is needed, a team with admittedly less general time & experience with the finer points of online competition, the perception of status involved with taking the checkered flag, and the kind of event where getting down safe and sound within a specific time limit is paramount. I mean what hurts worse than blowing a 2-hour leg at the last minute, right?

So, not surprisingly, a 'new' creation appears that does it all .....including - and I can't believe I read this there - the ability to bounce back from a -1500fpm touchdown ("impact" is a better term for that) on the runway?? I gotta try that in the stock Cessna 172 and see what happens Smile

See: "finer points of online competition". The thrill of winning lasts for a day or two, the acidic yellow taste of ignoring the ethics creeps up the back of your throat and sours the taste of victory for a long, long time.
