Question for the Sherman experts - ID this Sherman
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Yeah, the T6 has a M3 75mm gun installed in that pic. Since I happen to have my Hunnicutt book with me at work today, is it considered cheating? Or should I just i.d. the above Shermans anyway?

Chris, you wanna go ahead & ID this one?

The M6 with the 105mm gun that was offered to SHAEF. From this angle the turret looks massive.

Thanks Neil.
Its the flame thrower tank T33. It was based on a M4A3E2 hull and a special cast turret. It was armed with a flame thrower and a 75mm gun M6 which is the same type as the Chaffee. Three prototypes were completed after WW II.

Chris, thanks.

A couple other items of note on the T33. First it was based on the M4A3E2 Jumbo Sherman. Two, it was being prepared for mass production for use in the invasion of Japan, but the bomb ended that...
