Post subject: For you tank guys

S! All,

After seeing some pics of a M114 on here brought back memory's of my work back in 1984. Short story.
I worked on Tonopah Test Range during that time and they had quite a few M114's converted to radar platforms. After I was there for a while I was assigned a wrecker in which to perform PMI's on the M114's on site. Had loads of fun watching the missions run from those. I dont have any pics from then as...well... if i did I'd be sending this from prison Shocked .

Also when ever one had to come back to shop I had to take a flatbed out to load it up and take it in and then return it to the site. Lot of fun in those days.

Just wanted to share this.

Senyu

251_Senyu_IJN,
Where are you from in Ohio? I'm originally from Oakwood, (beside Dayton), and then moved to Delaware, just about 20 miles north of Columbus in 6th Grade. I'm stationed at Ft Hood now with the Army and post regularly on AFV,s DG.

XENIA!, were you there during the Tornado that hit back in 1973?, ( I believe thats the correct year). My old National Guard unit, B. Co. 1-166th INF, 73rd BDE (SEP), in Delaware, had the original clock that hung on the Xenia armory wall from that day. It had fallen and the clock broke, time was frozen to the time it hit. My old unit was disolved back in 1992, and I came active duty in Jan 1993. My father still lives in Delaware. He served over 35 years in the Ohio National Guard as a Transportation Officer. He was born and raised in Oakwood and my mothers parents lived in Kettering. I am currently stationed at Ft Hood, TX. I mainly post on AFV but I like to frequent here and post pictures of the aircraft that I come across. My son Jeffrey posts here as well. I posted the F-111 thats down the page, but usually I post helicopters since thats usually what I find around Army bases. Gotta run.

Yep I was here then, It was April 3rd 1974. Remember it like it was yesterday. Nice to hear from you, maybe someday we can meet up and go to the USAF museum? Bushy knows that place too.

Speaking of tanks, for the person who can't choose between FS2004 and an AFV simulation, I think I have the answer!
