I'd hate to rear-end this...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: I'd hate to rear-end this...

I was coming in my usual gate entrance to post today following lunch when I waved this convoy vehicle on in front of me so he could keep up with his group. Being as I always keep my digital handy, I snapped a quick photo. The 64th CSG is part of the 13th SC(E), (used to be called 13th COSCOM), of which I wear their unit patch and the 49th MCB is part of. I thought I own'd a large truck, but if I had rear-ended this, I'm sure the driver might not have even noticed.

i was going to joke about lube but that would be tasteless (no more puns please)
i also noticed the road sign to the left of the pic. did you plan that as well? you hit him and you will be coming to a stop no matter what the color...
unauthorized photography huh jeff? taking pics while driving, tailgating, i am sure there are a few more moving violations and infractions that could be added to your traffic ticket...
cool pics!
how would you have explained it to your boss aka lovely wife (or insurance company) had you hit the transport??

Jeff -

Can you please remind me what the black thing hanging on the rear plate is? Thanks.

The black thing is the engine exhaust grate. I suspect the turbine generates so much heat that applying paint to those pieces would be futile.

Unless you're talking the little black thing that's under the big black thing, on the lower rear plate - which would be the tow hook, wouldn't it?
