Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Mechanized Command Museum
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Mechanized Command Museum

I just got an e-mail from someone who works at the museum and was able to provide the following info regarding the museum's inventory. Not all of these are AFVs of course, so many wont go on my list, but I thought they might be of interest.

BTW, I've gotten a pretty good/interesting response to the AFV register going public. Some of the first ones frankly were private owners asking that some info be removed (only one case the person asked for the entire listing be removed). I have complied thus far, although frankly I might not if I can verify the info is already available in the public domain (ie somewhere on the web). Most responders, and even one of the aforementioned, were very gracious and appreciative for the register and I've gotten a decent amount of info for V2.3.

Neil

Hello Neil,
Just interested, what was the reason that one person wanted the complete list removed???

Regards,
Lesley

CCKW // undergoing rustoration 90% (needs some engine work and just needs the bows and needs paint touch up)

Is this a new technique that replicates the effect of sitting in a junkyard for many years?

When it hits 100% does that mean it has a patina of oxide brown over the entire surface or that it is only a small pile of Ferrous oxide?

Listing, not the entire list. One location, one vehicle. Info not publicly available so I removed it.
