For the Modellers - State of the Art Half Track!
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: For the Modellers - State of the Art Half Track!

DML have finally listenned to the agonised and frustrated screams of Allied modellers and put their skills of UBER KIT design into a state of the Art 2 - in 1 kit of a US M2/M2A1 Halftrack. Modellers have been after a Half track of any persuasion since the early 70's when Tamiya managed to do a kit of a prototype M3A2. This really lifts the bar and will be well recieved. Given the range of 251 kits that followed its release I don't think we have seen the last of DML's Half tracks.

Cheers

Follow the link and pay attention to the pics of frames - I can see M3/M3A1 sidewalls...

VERY nice looking kit! The M2 HT may be the most obscure 'common' U.S. vehicle out there. I wonder how many will buy the kit then be surprised there's no rear door! Let's hope we eventually get a Russian SU-57 (a.k.a. Lend-Lease 6 pounder) HT out of the deal.

The M3/3A1 will follow on to this and as Palic mentions you can see the M3 sprues in a few of the online pics. Both will be extremely welcome and I wonder how long before we see M4 Mortar, M3 75 SPM, 105 mm GMC, T30, T28 Spaag, M15,m16 Spaags, M21 Mortar, M9, M5, etc ?

With the Sherman III (M4A2 with Cast hoods) and the Tarawa M4A2 (Mid with Welded Hoods), followed by the Firefly 1c Composite it is shaping up to be a good last quarter of the year.
