What is this? Small "Japanese Tank"
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. Post subject: What is this? Small "Japanese Tank"

At first I thought it was some sort of funky Russian T-27 tankette. However, the more I look at it, the more I realise I have absolutely no idea what it is. It is certainly some sort of tankette. The bogie wheels are similar to a Universal Carrier, as are the tracks, but the superstructure is entirely different.

I generally tend to be very well informed about tankettes. However, this one is totally over my head.

What is it?

Looks like one of the armoured trailer thingys here 7th entry 'Model 94 Tankette "TK"'from the Tanks! website.

Aha! So right you are! Thank you for that. I had totally forgotten the Japanese "TK" Tankette was designed to haul a specific tracked trailer. I saw the "Japanese Two Man Tank" Sign and immediately presumed that I had never seen such a two man tank, so it must be something I had not seen before. Thanks again! ---Vil.

It's a chemical supply trailer. One TK with this trailer has been captured by Red Army, now preserved in Kubinka tank museum.
