Hmmm....found this out the hard way today...the "member galleries" are only viewable to registered members. Could we not change this? The reason being...it would permit posting the direct link (which is efficient) on other forums for others to view....but without "hotlinking" the images which is hard on bandwidth. This way, others could view the 'large' versions of images, and hotlinking the small ones only would not be necessary (as well as being undesirable from a bandwidth standpoint). AND....it has the advantage of exposing others to the wonder that IS the Com-Central community!
If bandwidth is a concern (and I'm sure it would be), we could ask our membership not to hotlink the image directly, but only to post the URL for the relevant page so it's only displayed when someone actually clicks it.

Make sense? Whaddaya' think?

Oh, sure! After I reloaded it all on Photobucket and reposted! Laughing

Well, I'll give her a try...as at this rate, I'll pee away all my bandwidth with the big images and multiple links, so it'll come in handy in the future. If people abuse by doing a lot of hotlinking, I'm sure you can track that and *ask* them to take it easy! I know I would....

Okey-Dokey...I tried it. You can link to the image in small display format, but not to the overall page where the image is...meaning: you can't get the "click to enlarge" function. I didn't enter the page URL, but got someone elses gallery image. Still, it's better than nuthin', but would be nice if we could enter to "click and enlarge" without being a member...this may not be possible, however.

Oh...of course, you have to "log out" to test this function...or you are a "member" Wink
