The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Someone here should mention... those shots are FANTASTIC! References we can't find anyplace else at all.

If any of you guys are too lazy to log onto Photobucket to view them you're really missing something.

Photo 2 and 3 - VERY cool Bison Dozer!

Photo 29 and 105 - is that the LdSH version of Manifold Cookery - ammo can filled with IMP bags in the exhaust?

Photos of AVGP MRT - very neat to see LAVIII and AVGP in the same photo, both ends of the wheeled AFV spectrum.

Photo 53 - HLVW maintainer's bin truck with rear-mounted HIAB crane. It must be easier to manouever the back of the truck towards the load than to get the side close to the load.

Photo 79 - Huh? Bison-based MRT on the same exercise? Why two types of wrecker, I thought the idea was to simplify the fleet?

Recceboy! Did you do any work on these workups? From the strolls around the harbour, happy snaps of the section attacks and road moves, a guy would think you were swanning morning, noon and night!

For all of the photos of the work up training I was acting as Safety Staff .Which I had to follow a troop of tanks and make sure that they "played" safe with all arms. As to the different vehicle photos all were on EX.....Iam going back to the field from early Oct to mid Nov for work up training , to replace my units B-SQN for the next roto to Afghanistan. So, look for more photos in mid Nov , for those who just can't get enough more on the way.....................Mexas Armour photos coming next week with a C-2 stip show before the putting on of the MEXAS armour............:)

The 7.62 mm ammo cans on the Leopard exhausts to heat up IMPs have been used for years and years. It was first used by crews in Germany and then adopted by other Regiments when the Leopards returned to Canada.

The Husky's callsign is "88Z" and the Bison MRT's is "28G". The Bison is from B Sqn and the Husky is either from HQ Sqn or 1 SVC BN.

I believe the Bison dozer is the Combat Engineer variant.
