The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Here is something interesting..

Its a 75mm APDS round made by Brandt during WW2 for the Wehrmacht. Mostly went to the eastern Front apparently. Found it in some old EOD manuals.

A little bit of digging reveals that it had a muzzle velocity of 960 m/s and a penetration of 90mm at 100m and 0°. It could penetrate 60mm armor at a range of 1,740 meters and 80mm at 580 meters. when fired from an M1897. One assumes it had a better performance when wedded to a german tank cartidge case as most of them supplied were projectiles only and must have been cased elsewhere.
