An hour to install FSX !!!! Jeez.

anyway...

The 1935 error appears to be a very common problem with Torrent downloads of the FSX program, DVD1 has an error on it.

If you have a genuine copy of FSX then you could have a problem with the MSI installer.

Another suggestion is that something you have running in the background may be affecting the install and recommend you install on a 'clean' boot.

Have a read of the very last post on this link, it may give you a work around if all else fails...
Possible solution

I've seen this same issue with Image files made from legit copies of FSX too. At this point in time, I'm not sure why, but it seems to effect most if not all the Image file copies.

Like most people, I make image files of the program and put the original disks in storage and I tried to used these Image files to reinstall FSX after the last XP crash. I've had the same issues as others I've read about. Slow install on Disk1, then the error message. When I got the originals DVD's back out, the install went fast and smooth.

That would make you think it has something to do with the DVD protection scheme. Still, I hate using the original disks when I've made copies...

Well, mines store bought.

I've heard of issues with a specific xml.dll...or something of that nature. I don't know what .dll file it is to be honest. Something to do with the parser...or....what am I saying, I haven't got a clue.

I went to the microsoft games website to see if the answer was there. But, I guess the games so new that *my* problem wasn't listed.

For what this little gem cost, it makes me irritated.

Crap....I don't get it. I have MSFS2004 installed and running perfectly.

I've heard there's bugs in the new MSFSX. Drivers =ok...video card/memory issues I can even understand, but I can't believe that the dang thing won't install.

It reminds me when I was upgrading XP to SP2. I tried several times to update and every time it failed. After messing with it for about a week, I found out that the motherboard bios was outdated and didn't support the updating. After I flashed the bios, all was good.

It seems to me Kafco had an install issue Oz and got it solved. While I know it's not quite the same issue, this may help. Click HERE!
