Slightly OT - can anyone identify this WWII truck model?...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Seems to be a classical GMC CCKW 352 or 353 with a modified armored cabin. You can see sometimes field armored jeeps like this one :

With the small WWII Jeeps, the excitement is during and after it rolls over from being top heavy or overloaded.

Sarcastic remarks aside, I remember finding Second War pictures and stories about Airborne Division improvised armour Jeeps and other US equipment in contemporary Flying, Popular Aviation, Popular Science and Popular Mechanics magazines. My Dad brought home several cubic feet of them when I was in elementary school. I'd read them until all hours of the night. Maybe that is where I got hooked on military technology.

According to this article, the truck was part of the Ordnance Museum collection at one point:

Unfortunately, I cant match it with any of my pictures of CCKWs from the inactive files...
