When I get problems with my X52, I run the game first, then plug the joystick in.

Works for me Smile

If you haven't sorted it out by now ? Confused
I experienced something similar with my MS FF2 in Fs9 (It was my fault) I had the autopilot on and the heading bug was active. the radio was hidden I know is stupid, but little things sometimes tend to be ignored.

Hope it helps

If you contact Saitek, they will probably tell you to try the recalibration tool which is now in the download section (just happened to one on our squad). If you try that and it does not work, I would contact Saitek (if you are within the 2 years since you purchased it) and ask for an RMA. The one thing I am not clear on from your post is, how does it behave in the control panel calibration settings?

If you can not resolve the problem, and before you contact Saitek; I strongly recommend that you register at the Saitek forums. There are hundreds of pages of X52 problems and Saitek support solutions in there, but you need to register on the forum.

Here is the link:

www.saitekforum.com/fo...une=&f=119

This is one of the current responses from Saitek support regarding twist drift.

Unplug the controller, click Start>Run, type regedit and click OK. In the Registry Editor browse to the following folders in order:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
MediaProperties
PrivateProperties
DirectInput

And delete the VID_06A3&PID_0255 folder (or VID_06A3&PID_075C). Plug the controller back in, rotate and twist the stick fully a couple of times and see if that has fixed it.

The "little thing"...icon of a joystick is the profile programing software. The fact that it has disappeared would lead me to believe there there has been a file corruption or whatever? Whether it is affecting the drivers is unknown...but definitely an indication of software missing ?? Try removing all the Saitek software in add/remove programs. Reboot, Unplug the joystick, reinstall the software from the disk and plug back in when indicated. You will probably have to rerun the install after the drivers are in for the programming software and magic mouse/bus I assume you have not updated the drivers via windows update. That is another whole set of problems and you will need some different software.

I'm going to be pretty busy all week, so I might not be able to get to it for a while. When I do that, I'll post the results

As biz_kid says, it's the profiler icon.

If you've only loaded the joystick drivers and not the SST software you'll never see it.

I've got the software, but it keeps on failing and sending an error report to windows. Also, my keyboard is skiping every fifth letter. Any suggestions?

You do have serious problems. As much as it is work...you do look like you are ready for a reformat and reinstall of windows.

Can not think of anything more creative at this point. Besides...it will run like a new computer when its done. Good Luck Rolling Eyes

Ditto.
It sounds more serious than initial assesments.
Back up your important data and files, then format that sucker and re-install.
It's a lengthy operation but it will be worth it.
It will clear out all the clutter Windows accumulates which slows down the performance of your p.c. and she will fairly fly along afterwards.

One tip; If you get something like Norton's 'Ghost', once you've formatted, re-installed, and got everything set up how you like it, you can save an 'image' of your whole drive so that you can do it at will in future and just re-install the image rather than go through the whole 'rigmarole' again.
