ID Help Needed/more from the Ordnance Museum inactive files
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Jim, I don't think that these two tracked vehicles actually are Cleveland / Cletrac MG-1, which has rubber tracks:



The shown vehicles seem to have cast track links, so I believe we're looking at two Raupenschlepper Ost chassis, w/o cabs and rear bodywork, but perhaps with wooden boxes above their engines.




Especially the last view could be THE clue...

That's indeed an Unic TU1. AFAIK, only two examples of the 236 produced ones have survived:

1) an almost 100% original one belonging to a private collector in France;

2) a chassis with genuine front body and fake rear bodywork, which had been restored for the defunct "Victory Memorial Museum" in Arlon, Belgium. Of course, this exhibit is nowadays on display at the "WWII Victory Museum" in Auburn, Indiana, USA:

BTW, the same collection also has an Unic P107 - see 'source'-link above!

Important note: the TU1 once at APG cannot be one of the two survivors, IMHO.

The photograph is a product factory CKD - Artillery Tractor Praga T-9. Before the war, delivered a series to Turkey. During the war he served in the Wehrmacht as Schwerer Raupenschlepper Praga T-IX (t).

I dont have the originals - they're at APG of course. You can see the same images I have by doing "view image" and expanding the image... But FWIW, I cant make out any RNs from the pics...

AFAIK, anyone can access the files with at least some advance notice. But its on-site of course... Some (possibly all) of the RNs can from the museum inventory logs. The pictures come from the inactive files in the library file cabinets. Most files consist of a single picture such as the above. Some files will include some sort of receipt/tracking log type document.
