Overloon Sherman to Italy - online petition
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Overloon Sherman to Italy - online petition

Not sure if this has featured here before but for some reason the Overloon museum in Holland has decided to sell a properly documented WW2 Sherman that was actually lost in battle, and spent the last 60 years almost on the spot where it happended, to Italy to be a war memorial. And it's even the wrong type!!

There is an online petition set up to try and change peoples minds and get it brought back and replaced with one of the many surviving Shermans. I know this has been on other forums and sorry if it's old news but actually living in Holland and having just heard about it, I can't quite believe it....

FYI, this issue made the latest issue of I think it was Military Machines International - but might have been Classic Military Vehicles. Neil
